My story

The short version: I am a music lover, equestrienne and radio personality. It didn’t necessarily happen in that order, but here’s the details.

My love of horses began early, with my parents allowing me to fall asleep on my rocking horse to avoid dragging me away kicking and screaming. This eventually led to my becoming a United States Dressage Federation “L” graduate with distinction, and a USDF Bronze Medalist.

I completely fell into the radio thing when I walked into the CBS affiliate/AM/FM combo in my hometown of Waco,TX–WAAAY before Chip and Joanna started fixing it up– and asked if they were hiring. I actually never considered it would be anything but answering the phone, but next thing I know I’m on the air on KWTX-FM. I worked in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina in all dayparts and as a Music Director in Rock and Adult Contemporary formats. I did rock in Louisville and Indianapolis and AC in Wilmington, DE and Philadelphia, ending up doing weekends and swing at B101 in Philadelphia, a really cool gig.

Music lover has been there from the start. When people ask me what kind of music I like, I say “Good.” As far as I’m concerned, any genre of music is enjoyable as long as you can find quality examples. My personal preference is rock, but that’s still a pretty broad category. I love seeing live music of almost any kind and I continue to discover new music and bands and become obsessed with them. Anyone who knows me well knows that this was the highlight of my latest obsession:meeting The Afghan Whigs at The Electric Factory in Philly in April of 2018 after falling under the spell of their excellent 2017 record “In Spades”

Anyway, that’s Cliffs Notes version. And I’m still writing the story…
